Dear Parents,

Welcome to a new school year! My name is Heidi Kolb and I am your child’s fourth grade teacher. I am married to Keith Kolb and we have two children, Rachel and Emily and a dog named Buddy.

I have taught in Alma for thirty-two years. The first three years I taught the learning disabled using my Bachelor of Arts degree in special education from Hope College. The following years I taught fourth grade after receiving my Master of Arts degree from Central Michigan University in the area of classroom teaching.

*Be involved in knowing what your child is studying.

*Don’t be a “wonderer” on how your child is performing. Look for your child’s grade report on Friday. Sign the Friday folder, so I know you looked at the report, and return it with your child on Monday.

*Understand that this fourth grade classroom does have a set of math facts to be mastered, nightly reading, and spelling words to be studied. This should be accomplished throughout the week.
